There are plenty of things you can do to help with the effort.

  • Pick any open source project an contribute to it.
    • Answer questions raised by other users of the project.
    • Comment on open issues of the project.
    • Help with the documentation.
    • Help with the translation (if relevant).
    • Review open pull-requests.
    • Add tests.
    • Fix bugs.
    • Add features.
    • ...
  • Pick an open source project maintained by an Israeli person or company. (It might be easier and it might strengthen the local community more.)
  • Participate in the activities of one or more of the local communities (WhatsApp, Telegram, Facebook, Meetup).
  • Help with the organization of events. (Monthly meetups, conferences, hackathons, etc.)
  • Get your company to contribute to open source.
    • Encourage your co-workers to contribute back to the open source libraries you use at your workplace.
