Let's put all of this in prospective.
Last week, when I saw the "new" august penguins site was implemented
in drupal I volunteered to manage the site (or at least bootstrap it)
I felt it can be implemented better then it was and I am not a
"clueless soldier" in this particular domain as you mentioned in your
I did not take the discussion to migrate the site to drupal (so I will
not defend it) - but I do see the logic in letting people that are not
html/css savvy contribute to the site (especially if they wish to
integrate media later on like pictures or movies.
I disagree that drupal is overkill for this, but it does mean that
other people will be able to contribute to the site (which I think is
a good thing).
I also see a clear implementation path to charging memberships online,
Issuing newsletters to members (not subscribers - I know many members
that do not read discussions at hamakor) and many additional issues.
I think that most of your comments are valid and I'd be glad to try to
I also think that learning drupal will probably minimize your free
time because there is a great demand for experienced drupalers - see http://drupal.org.il/wanted
Instead of looking at this as a threat look at it as a opportunity to
learn a new technology and to expand your freelancing capabilities.
Now enough for the meta discussion - let's be a bit more operative.

If we can reessemble the last site in an archive.august.penguin.org.il
or maybe august.penguin.org.il/old or something like that I'd be glad
to link there. (Shachar or you - shlomi please send a link so I can
link to it.)

Which browsers, which resolutions, Which OS's
The width is standard for a 1024x768 resolution (960px) if you can
prove that hamakor surfers have more then 10% that use 800x600 I'll be
happy to change it (my bet is 3%).

Fixed, Block has been taken off - Admins and users please login in
> 5. Suffers from these problems:
> 6. Does not have meaningful URLs.
